Here is a new, side-style backpack that has received positive press. This side-style backpack which is called the "BackTpack" was designed by a physical therapist and is endorsed by the American Physical Therapy Assocation (APTA). The BackTpack allows you to stand, walk, and sit with your spine and head tall and your shoulders square in a healthy "T" posture. The load feels much lighter to the wearers because all the weight is placed evenly at their sides, encouraging their bodies to be strong, upright, graceful and free.

This comfortable and versatile side-style backpack promotes good posture, balance and strength. There are padded shoulder straps with the side bags hanging on each side of the body. Compartments are accessible when standing, walking or sitting. The side bags of the standard size are 14 inches wide x 13 inches high with water bottle holders in each pouch, a key clip, headphone port, velcro pocket closures, and belt loops for optional hip loading.

"I have one of the packs from BackTPack. I love it. I'm a guide dog handler and have severe neck and shoulder issues and this is about the only bag I can use. It is everything she notes, holds tons of stuff and is very comfortable. The only drawback is putting too much stuff in the left side of the pack, which can throw one's arm out of alignment for working a guide dog, but that's small compared to the ease of use. I'd say do offer them. They are well made and well designed."

Standard Braille size papers & folders fit in the standard size backpack better because it's pockets are one inch wider.
